Please return toy son time to allow others to enjoy them too. There will be a grace period of one week following the due date for return. After this time, there will be a flat fine of $1 per week per toy. You will be invoiced directly for the replacement cost of the toy if it is not returned within six weeks from the date of issue. No overdue fees will be charged for having toys on extended loan while the toy library is closed for the period between Christmas and term 1. We ask that toys are returned before the library closes at Xmas time so that all families have the opportunity to hire toys for this long period. Also there will be no overdue fees charged if the library is closed due to other reasons such as the Martinborough Fairs, Public Holiday weekends or unexpected closures.
No further toys may be borrowed until all fines are paid.
Care of the toys you borrow is your responsibility. Please return them clean and tidy in the condition you would like to receive them.
You may be directed to re-issue the toy and return it in a satisfactory condition. If you fail to clean the toys when requested, then a wash-up fee of $5 will be payable immediately.
Loss and/or damage
Toys break even in normal play. Don’t be embarrassed if this happens to you. Please notify us of missing or broken parts when you return the toys.
Broken parts: actual replacement cost will be charged per broken part (non-refundable).
Lost parts: a replacement charge of $5.00 per piece, bag or instructions will be levied for lost pieces. This will be refunded on return of the missing piece(s) provided they are returned within two months. If the toy is unusable, the whole replacement cost will be charged. Toy Library will invoice out on a quarterly basis for any lost and broken items.
The Toy Library Committee will consider extensive damage (eg if a toy is returned in an unusable condition). This may result in you being asked to contribute to the cost, repair or replacement.
Please note the Toy Library will make all replacements although often item replaced with good intention we prefer the Toy Library to make all purchases to reinstate a toy to its original state.
When you are in the library, you will notice that each toy is packed and checked in its own bag or box. Toys will be checked on issue and return by the rostered duty person.
Toys at home
At the end of each play session at home, we suggest you put the library toys away in their bags or boxes. This keeps them separate from your own toys and makes it much easier when you come to return them.
Cancellation of membership
Please keep us informed of any change in your address, telephone number or email details. If you decide to discontinue your use of the library for any reason, we would appreciate you notifying us so that someone else may have the opportunity to participate. There will be no refund on any subscriptions paid and all rental fees and fines must be paid prior to cancellation of membership.
